Dr. Shelia Barnhart-Ramirez, a school counselor for Hampton City Schools and graduate of Old Dominion University's DCEPS Master's program, has been named the Virginia Elementary Counselor of the Year for her commitment to providing effective care to students.
She also recently achieved national recognition from our national association (ASCA), for her exemplary school counseling program (RAMP designation).
